In 1995 the couple has been sent out as missionaries by the Protestant Parish of Eisingen through Neukirchener Mission to serve within the Christian Church from North Central Java (Gereja Kristen Jawa Tengah Utara – GKJTU) and to teach at Abdiel Seminary in Ungaran, Central Java, Indonesia. They are also involved in several projects of the diaconal branch of GKJTU, Zion Foundation. Zion Foundation became one of the first two Indonesian members of Micah Network in 2008. Since 2006 Christian G. and his family are involved in the revision of the Indonesian Bible translation, too. The family usually lives in Salatiga, Central Java, but from July 2011 to July 2012 they are on furlough in Eisingen, Germany. |

Rev.Dr. Christian Goßweiler (born 1962) studied protestant theology, cultural antropology and several languages at state universities in Heidelberg and Tübingen (Germany). He earned his Dr.theol. degree under the mentorship of Prof. Peter Beyerhaus in 1994 with a dissertation on church-mission partnership (Unterwegs zur Integration von Kirche und Mission . Untersucht am Beispiel der Rheinischen Missionsgesellschaft, Erlangen, 1994). Also in 1994 Christian G. married his Javanese wife Kristanti Pebri Nugrahani.
